Bioethanol is a biofuel of vegetable origin which is obtained through glucose fermentation. The glucose is found either directly in raw materials such as sugar cane and beetroot, or indirectly, as part of the starch chains (e.g. cereal) or cellulose (e.g. straw or any lignocellulosic biomass). In addition to bioethanol, CO2 and a by-product with a high protein and fiber content that is used as animal feed is obtained during the production process.
