PostParc - Berne, Switzerland - 2017
Contract and Claim Management SIA 118 - Schanzenpost Post Parc
A building complex has been erected on the site of the former Schanzenpost in the Centre of the Swiss Federal City of Berne, which exploits the potential of the prominent location, lends it an appealing image and makes it the new hub between the railway station and the Länggasse quarter. The building complex is divided into four sections: the construction of the new building instead of the former post railway station, the conversion of the existing office tower, the new construction of the Schanzenpost and the adaptation as well as the new construction of streets and squares in the surrounding area. The two new buildings and the completely renovated high-rise complex together.
- Total project costs: approx. CHF 450’ million

Challenges
The building renovation of the high-rise complex had to be carried out under continuous traffic of the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB), without any interruptions to the SBB timetable. This presented both the general contractor as well as all contractors with a big challenge, which, however, could be bravely mastered.
